A three-day music camp for acoustic musicians teaching you how to play Mandolin, Bluegrass & Clawhammer Banjo, Flatpick Guitar, Bass, Fiddle, Dobro, Fingerstyle Guitar & Songwriting
Ensemble classes: During the afternoon structured jams interested students can join an instructor led ensemble to experience playing with others in a band environment. Learn how to arrange songs, band etiquette, and more.
Beginner Banjo Boot Camp: A special track for beginning banjoists. Concentrating on group exercises to improve speed, changing chords, playing rolls, and licks. Anyone can play a banjo with a little practice and repetition.
Wil Maring’s songwriting class will include how to accompany yourself on guitar as a singer / songwriter.
Instructor Jams: Each day there will be instructor led jams and band ensembles. All instructors not presenting a special workshop will lead a Slow, Intermediate or Advanced jam or ensemble each day.
Topic Based Classes: The 3:20 pm workshops will be based on special topics, such as Developing Speed, Playing in Different Keys, Up the Neck Backup, Playing While Singing, and more.
Playing in Church: Gerald Jones will teach an afternoon class with tips on playing banjo and mandolin and guitar in church. Helpful for other instruments too.

Our music camp is geared to all kinds of acoustic music. We teach bluegrass, oldtime, swing, jazz, singer/songwriter, Americana, and other styles.
There will be special afternoon workshops on how to amplify acoustic music, music programs and apps for for your computer or iPad, banjo setup, and more.
Oldtime Music Jam each day! Clawhammer banjoist D. Lee Thomas and friends will host an Oldtime Music Jam each afternoon.

Bring the family! There’s lots to do within 30 miles of the camp. Grapevine Mills Mall, Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor Water Park, The Amon Carter Museum, Modern Museum of Fort Worth, Kimbell Art Museum, National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, Stockyards Museum, the Vintage Flying Museum and more. This is a bluegrass camp, banjo camp, guitar camp, mandolin camp, fiddle camp and more all rolled into one.
Each student at our August camp receives a zippered music bag of goodies.
